Tabernas Desert & Fort Bravo Day Trip
We'll meet at the Plaza Mariana Pineda in Granada at 8:30 am. Our bus journey to Tabernas, one of the few deserts in Europe, should only take 1 hour 30 minutes.
On our arrival in Tabernas, we'll go on a walking tour through the desert, a perfect route for you to discover Almería's desert landscape, as well as all the unique characteristics that this peculiar area has to offer.
The guided walking tour, which will last 1 hour 30 minutes, will also take you to one of the most important settings for western films. Famous films such as Lawrence of Arabia, The Price of Death and The Young Indiana Jones were filmed here in Tabernas. The guide will tell you some fascinating stories from the 60s and 70s about this European Hollywood.
After the tour, we'll go to Tabernas Castle, from which we'll have a breathtaking panoramic view of the Filabres and Alhamilla mountain ranges, with the desert at your feet!
Our next stop is Fort Bravo, a western-style theme park that is sure to surprise you. Here, you'll have 3 hours of free time to explore this quirky theme park, also known as Texas Hollywood.
Cowboy shows on horseback, duels, cancan dancers... There's plenty to see! You can also hop on a horse-drawn carriage to see different stage settings such as the Mexican village, the Native American camp or the American fort.
We'll finish our day trip back in Granada, where we'll arrive at around 4:30 pm.
